The Full Story
The Toughest Audience
I spent 8 years teaching science to teenagers.
The biggest thing I learned? Most of them aren't actually interested in learning science.
Shocker.

My job was, therefore, to convince a group of sceptical, impossibly-hard-to-please people, that what I had to say was amazing.

Like there was nowhere else they'd rather be on a Monday morning.
Like it's something really, really wanted to be part of. And to do it all in a way they understood.

The Winds of Change
Knowing that teaching wasn't for me forever, I eventually started contemplating what else I could do.

That's when I first heard the term copywriter. Something clicked.

I'd had a blog for years that had taught me the ins and outs of SEO.

Over the years I'd created enough learning resources to know that I'm a pretty dab hand at crafting a back-to-basics masterpiece to cling to even the shortest attention spans.

Wasn't that the role of a copywriter?

For months I immersed myself in every video, podcast or book I could find that would help me to develop this skill. I joined the Comprehensive Copywriting Academy and devoured the training.

But, when it came to actually starting a business, it just wasn't happening. There weren't enough hours in the day.

So, as a usually risk-averse human, I took possibly the wildest decision of my life and quit my job to go all in on my business.

...and so here we are!
I started truly from scratch, with nothing but a head for learning and a talent with words to back me up.

I have learned through trying, testing, failing and succeeding, making plenty of mistakes along the way and figuring out how to fix them.
I know what it's like to feel you're lacking direction, spread too thin or like a fish out of water.

Studying the art of conversion copywriting through Joana Wiebe's incomparable Copy School has since inspired me to delve deep into the highly nuanced world of email strategy.

I help my clients to find direction, get in front of the right people and build valuable, meaningful connections...
...or at the very least, they can tick something off their to-do list.
